My top 3 Barrel in Europe19 May 2021
Searching for the perfect wave with Loewe5 July 2021
The day finally arrived! To get to this moment I have had to go through many tests that went well and finally I managed to be one of the selected national team member to represent Spain in a pre-Olympic World Games. All this process has been a roller coaster of emotions and also of the most demanding situations of my sports career. But it’s a Pre-Olympic World Cup! I couldn’t expect less, let’s go…
Before leaving for San Salvador for the second time, I was going to participate in two European league events in Portugal to get a little competitive rhythm. The truth is that both went well, I had good feelings and got high scores. I was 5th and 9th which reflect very good consistency at this level. With this preparation, I began to organize my board bag and suitcases to head to Central America where the best of the international scene awaited me.
I arrived a couple of days before the start of the championship and there we hit the waves of the competition to catch up with our boards and get our homework “done”. It was great because we were right in front of one of the waves of the championship and we were able to draw any conclusions to face the start of the world championship. Even so, the Pacific Ocean is very changeable and no matter how much you think you have everything under control, well… it is not always like that in reality!
This video shows one of these training days leading up to one of the most important dates of my life. Something that I would highlight in this chapter is the interaction with the other surfers and also with the coaching staff. Reflections, criticisms, laughter… For us, the World Games and Europeans are special because we compete for our country and the individual classification also counts for the classification by country. This is one more motivation and I personally enjoy these experiences a lot.
Good waves and enjoy it!
